After the completion of the special round under the first year junior college (FYJC) admission process, on Saturday, the education department released a refreshed timetable for the first-come-first-served (FCFS) round one on Monday.

The remaining students who are still without admissions will be considered in this round. These include, those who were not allotted any college in the regular rounds conducted so far, or who had cancelled their admissions in all the regular rounds or those who did not confirm admission despite getting their first preference colleges.

Even students who have cancelled their admissions, or were rejected in the special round, will have another chance to get junior college admissions in this round.

Now, as per the new schedule released by the education department, the overall vacancy list for the FCFS round for the first category students will be displayed on August 25. Only students from the first category will have the chance to take admissions between 10 am to 3 pm on August 27.

On the next day, August 28, the vacancy list for second category students will be opened, while for the third category students the date is August 30.

“All the admissions in this first round for the three categories should be completed by August 31. Depending on the number of students still waiting for admissions, we will publish the vacancy list for the next FCFS round,” said Meenakshi Raut, deputy director of education, Pune.

Officials stated that students with 80 per cent marks or above in Class 10 will be considered in the first category, while those with 60 per cent or more will be considered in the second category of the FYJC admissions. The third category students with 35 per cent or above will also be considered for this round along with the first two categories.
