Vehicle vandalism and vehicle-torching incidents are increasing by the day in Pimpri, with residents raising concern over how the police are being absolutely useless in maintaining law and order in the area.
According to the Pimpri police, the incident took place during the wee hours of Tuesday, when the accused took to burning the two-wheelers as he was apparently unhappy with the theft of his bicycle.
The fire reduced the vehicles to ash. Meanwhile, a case related to destruction of public property has been lodged against the accused, police said.
The juvenile has been apprehended by the police in connection with the case.
As many as 120 vehicles have been vandalised by juvenile delinquents all across areas under the jurisdiction of Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate since May 2018.
In most of the cases, the youths indulging in indiscriminate vandalism were accused
of fighting over petty reasons, wanting to establish their supremacy in the area. Some residents also allege that offenders are trying to spread terror amongst area residents.
