The social security cell and crime branch unit of Pune police, busted a major sex racket operation at two spas in Koregaon Park and rescued five girls who are natives of Thailand on Thursday.

Acting on a tip-off received by Bhanupratap Barge, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) the police officials raided Sukanya Spa, at 2.30 pm on Thursday. The team rescued three women and arrested Sagar Pardeshi (36), a resident of Kondhwa and Kevin Sunny (30) a resident of Bhavani peth. Rahul Rathod, the owner of the spa is said to be in Thailand.
In the second raid that was conducted at Illume spa on the same day, two women were rescued by the police. Mahesh Namdev Shinde (31) spa manager and Ritesh Jogin, owner have been booked.
A case against the accused has been registered at Koregaon Park police station, under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
Investigation team included Manisha Zende, inspector ; Ashwini Jagtap, assistant police inspector; Yogita Kudale, police sub inspector and police personnel Namdev Shelar, Tushar Alhat, Sachin Kadam, Nilesh Palwe, Shankar Sampate, Anuradha Dhumal, Nanita Yele among others.
