The district administration has closed the road going to Sinhagad fort for the next eight days for maintenance purposes, but still tourists have found different ways to go to access the fort. A pregnant woman, Praneeta Lahu Ingle (28), from Latur, slipped from Tanaji Kada on Saturday night, almost falling into a deep 150-foot valley while taking a selfie. Local residents saved her and fortunately she escaped with minor injuries.

This incident took place on Saturday evening around eight o'clock. She and her husband Lahu with her brother came to the fort to enjoy the  weekend. With the ghat road closed they accessed the fort by from the Aatakarwadi side.

On the fort, Praneeta was standing at an edge where iron railings have been installed as security . Even then she was taking selfies near the guardrail and because of rainfall on the road, the rails were slippery.

Praneeta slipped off the rails and was falling down into the valley when her husband cried for help. Residents standing nearby rushed and saved the pregnant woman.

Praneeta was lying on a narrow path from where they picked her up. Hindustan Times contacted the Haveli police station, but no report has been registered regarding this mishap.
