Pune teacher sexually abuses 12 students; booked under POCSO act

The Vimantal police arrested a government school teacher for allegedly sexually abusing 12 girls studying in Class 6. The action was taken based on a formal complaint by an education extension officer on Wednesday.
The police arrested the 42-year-old teacher and produced him before a special court on Thursday which remanded him in police custody till May 18.
According to the police, the incident took place over the past few months, but came to light on May 8.
The accused teacher would molest the girls in the class as well as during breaks. He threatened the students of dire consequences if they revealed the incident and his name to anyone.
The victims have been living under the terror and suffered exploitation.
The accused has been charged for offences under Sections 354 (outraging modesty of woman), 354 (sexual harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
CS Chaudhary, police sub-inspector of the Vimantal police station, is investigating the case further under the guidance of regional deputy commissioner of police, who is the incharge of Vimantal police station.
