Thane ACB search premises of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kakade in Pune
Anti Corruption Bureau has booked Kakade Infrastructure Pvt Ltd (KIPL) as one of the accused for alleged irregularities in the tender for Sion-Panvel highway and toll collection.
The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Thane branch officials carried out simultaneous searches at the office premises of the company headed by Rajya Sabha MP and associate BJP member Sanjay Kakade on Saturday.
The officials visited Kakade’s office on Jungli Maharal road at Shivajinagar in Pune in connection with the road contract given to the company controlled by the MP, sources said.
The construction company Kakade Infrastructure Private Limited (KIPL) was offered the contract of constructing Sion-Panvel road toll collection.
The ACB had last week filed a case against KIPL and its sister concern IVRCL. The ACB officials also carried out searches at IVRCL. Kakade was not available for comment.
A prominent builder from the city, Kakade became Rajya Sabha MP in 2012 and later joined the BJP as an associate member. He was instrumental in BJP’s victory during the civic elections.
