3 killed, 2 injured in accident near Bathinda

Three Rajasthan natives were killed, while two others were injured in car-truck collision on Bathinda-Bajakhana road near Ramanajit Singh Wala village in Bathinda district on Friday.
The accident occurred at about 5 pm when victims were on their way to Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir in a Hyundai I10 car when it collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. The accident occurred about 20 kilometres far from Bathinda.
The deceased persons have been identified as Rakesh Saini, Jagmal Sekhawat and Ajay Kaushik, all residents of Rajasthan, and reportedly are faculty members in Baby Happy Degree College in Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan.
The injured persons who have been identified as brother duo Ashish and Tarun Vijay, reportedly, are in the managing committee of the private college. There condition is reported to stable at civil hospital here.
The truck driver fled from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle. The police are in the process of tracing the driver as well owner of the vehicle. SHO said police were in the process of identifying the vehicle owner and driver and he will be nabbed soon.
A case for causing death due to negligence and rash driving has been registered against the unknown driver of the truck.
