93 more people join hunger strike by Namdhari Action Committee

Namdhari Panthak Ekta Action Committee’s hunger strike entered 19th day on Tuesday and the fast unto death observed by five people entered fourth day.
As many as 93 people joined the hunger strike on Tuesday and thus total number of participants in hunger strike had reached 101.Thakur Dalip Singh, who is considered to be the sect head by the protesting faction, also visited the individuals sitting on fast unto death. He sat with the people sitting on hunger strike.
Singh said, “Sikh history is full of sacrifices and sikhs have sacrificed their lives without any selfishness. This hunger strike is noble in itself as its being observed not for the personal benefit but for the unity of the sect.”
On a question of unity with Bhaini Sahib, he said, “People of Bhaini Sahib did not even allow us to take holy water from there, then how they could let us enter the shrine.” He said that they were following Guru Nanak Dev’s way according to which all should come under one umbrella breaking the disparities. He said that hunger strike will continue till their all demands were met.
State president of the committee Darshan Singh Raisar said that strike wsa getting an overwhelming response from the people.
He added people were disappointed with the Bhaini Sahib and no one from the administration had paid any heed towards their demands until now. If the administration and Bhaini Sahib would not try to resolve the matter, then the protest would be intensified in coming days.
