The pandemonium prevailed at the local bus stand chowk when drivers of public and private buses blocked the main road on Wednesday. The drivers alleged that a traffic police constable had allegedly slapped and misbehaved with a driver of a PRTC bus. However, on the other hand, the police claimed that driver Parmjeet Singh misbehaved with traffic constable Ravinderpreet Singh, who intercepted the bus, when the driver jumped the red light.

Following the incident, the drivers started parking their buses at the main chowk. This led to traffic disruption on the road for more than an hour. The protesters were pacified only after deputy superintendent of police Davinder Singh assured them of investigation in the matter.
