Amritsar: Two cousins killed in road mishap due to fog

A 20-year-old youth and his cousin sister died on the spot after their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Adda Saleempur, around 8 kms from here, on Wednesday morning. According to police, the accident occurred because of dense fog in the morning.

The deceased have been identified as Daler Singh, and his 19-year-old cousin sister Sarabjit Kaur.

A police party, led by sub inspector (SI) Gurinderpal Singh of Rajasansi police station reached the spot soon after receiving the information and sent the bodies for post-mortem..

He said a case under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against an unidentified driver.

“We are investigating the case to know the identity of the accused and more sections will be added after the probe,” he added.
