ASI run over by jeep at Jalandhar naka, hospitalised

A Punjab Police assistant sub-inspector Kuldeep Singh sustained serious injuries after being run over by a Mahindra Bolero at a naka near a petrol pump in Basti Bawa Khel locality on Wednesday.

The ASI signalled the driver, Pardeep Kumar of Gandhi camp locality, to stop but the latter fled after hitting him. The driver was later nabbed.

The injured cop was moved to a private hospiotal near Kapurthala Chowk. He has sustained three fractures in the left arm, apart from injuries to the legs, head, and chest.
