The committee was constituted under Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Tests Act, 1994. The meeting was attended by the CMOs of several districts and senior medical officers.
Presiding over the meeting, Rameshwar Sharma, health safety and regulations director and PC and PNDT Committee president directed the CMOs to conduct the inspections.
He said at present 261 clinics, having the facility of ultra-sonography, were functioning in the state. "The CMOs should inspect these clinics at least four times in a year, besides holding meetings of district consultative committees on a regular interval," he added.
He said a provision had been made to provide `5 lakh to the block for giving best performance in child sex ratio in the district. Besides, the encouragement amount was also being provided on the birth of one and two daughters under Indira Gandhi Balika Suraksha Yojna. `69 lakh were distributed under this scheme during last year, added Sharma.
