The chairman of the ex-servicemen cell of the state Congress Col Dharmendra Patyal (retd) on Wednesday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders particularly Prem Kumar Dhumal and Anurag Thakur for holding rallies in support of ex-servicemen here.

Patyal said that the BJP had done nothing for the serving soldiers and ex-servicemen and whatever facilities they had received that was due to the Congress and its leaders.

He said that it was perhaps due to the Lok Sabha elections that the Dhumals had started wooing the ex-servicemen and their families.

Patyal said this gimmick would not work and the Congress would win all four Lok Sabha seats of the state, including that of Hamirpur.

Patyal claimed that most of the demands of the ex-servicemen had been accepted and rests were in the pipeline. He advised people not to fall prey to the evil designs of the BJP leaders and extend their full support to the Congress in the next elections.
