How do you see your performance?

Mine is a victory of the people and a suitable reply to misrule of central and state governments which exploited the aam aadmi for years. Though our party failed to do well at the national level, it has done exceptionally well in Punjab, which is significant. Punjabis are quite different from the rest of India, as they take to new things very quickly and then take matters to logical conclusions.

What worked for you, and were you expecting the win?

People are fed-up of scams and mafia rule. Earlier, people had no choice but our party gave people a chance to change the system. Though we were hopeful, we wondered if people would actually vote for us despite the intensive campaigning. A strong undercurrent was there but it was very difficult to make an assessments.

How will you be a different kind of MP, and what's AAP's future?

I have clear plans; I will fight for the people more outside Parliament than just being inside. I will give the central government eight months to solve major problems, like the Ghaggar flooding, or we will hold protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. As for the party, though we have just four MPs, we will act as a strong opposition.
