However, Jagdeep Singh has alleged that he was being victimised by the district administration for contesting as an Independent and demanding kite as a symbol, which was also demanded by another Independent candidate Manpreet Singh Badal.

However, these days, Jagdeep Singh has been campaigning for Congress candidate Manpreet Singh Badal. Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) had fielded a namesake of Manpreet as a dummy candidate and secured People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) symbol kite for him from the Election Commission.

However, it was not only SAD but even Congress candidate Manpreet Singh Badal had fielded a dummy candidate, Jagdeep Singh, and made a futile effort to secure PPP symbol for him.

Jagdeep Singh, officially an Independent candidate from Bathinda, had also demanded kite as an election symbol against SAD- supported Manpreet Singh Badal.
