Eight farmers’ organisations will assemble on Wednesday (November 18) at Moga to make further plan. In a press statement issued here, KSC president Satnam Singh Pannu said that the situation in the state had worsened because of “negative handling of the political, social, economic, and religious issues”. He also opposed the sedition cases against hardliners behind the November 10 Sikh congregation near Amritsar, saying: “The chief minister should have negotiated with them.”

Accusing the government of being insensitive to farmers’ concerns, he said even suicides on farms had not moved it to change its agricultural policies.
