Half-day in Punjab on Gurpurb eve

The Punjab government declared half holiday for the second half of the day on Tuesday in its offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions located in Chandigarh and SAS Nagar to enable the government employees to participate in 'Nagar Kirtan' to be organised on the eve of birthday of Guru Nanak.

The Punjab government declared half holiday for the second half of the day on Tuesday in its offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions located in Chandigarh and SAS Nagar to enable the government employees to participate in 'Nagar Kirtan' to be organised on the eve of birthday of Guru Nanak.

The offices of government departments, boards, corporations and also education institutions in the rest of the state would remain closed for the second half of the day on Tuesday, an official spokesman here said.

A notification in this regard had been issued to all heads of departments and managing directors of boards and corporations, registrar, Punjab and Haryana High Court, commissioners of all the divisions, deputy commissioners of all districts and SDMs of all sub-divisions throughout the state.
