Chandigarh police on Monday moved an application in a local court to initiate proclaimed offender proceedings against Balraj Singh Randhawa, main accused in the murder case.
Meanwhile, local court ordered release of the car in which the deceased was taken to hospital in the February 9 murder of Akansh Sen, nephew of Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh.
Akansh’s friend Rajan, also one of the eyewitnesses in the case, had filed an application for release of his car as it was in police possession for investigation purposes. Sen was rushed to PGIMER in Rajan’s car on the day of incident. The court of civil judge (junior division) Nisha had asked for a status report from the investigating officer in the case, Poonam Dilawari. After the report submitted claimed that they no longer needed the car for any verification process, the court permitted the release of Rajan’s car.
Akansh Sen was run over by a BMW on February 9 in Sector 9. Main accused Randhawa is still at large, co-accused Harmehtab Singh Rarewala is in judicial custody currently.
