Man booked for raping minor
The Patiala police have booked a Patran youth Ranjit Singh for raping a minor Dalit girl on the pretext of marriage. The suspect has been booked under section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and sections 376 and 506 of the IPC.

The Patiala police have booked a Patran youth Ranjit Singh for raping a minor Dalit girl on the pretext of marriage. The suspect has been booked under section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and sections 376 and 506 of the IPC.
As per the complaint of victim's father, the suspect was in a relation with his 17-year-old daughter and sexually abused her. The complainant said when the family came to know about the relation, they asked the suspect to marry the girl once she was 18, however, he refused and started threatening the family.
The police have launched a manhunt to nab the suspect.
