There was no dearth of funds and he got a number of projects executed, including construction of a railway overbridge in Sahnewal and a bridge in Mattewara which has reduced traffic congestion. Though he also has duties as irrigation minister, he maintained constant touch with the electorate, and distributed grants of `25 crore towards rural development. Work was thus done on infrastructure in at least a dozen villages. While the constituency has a non-functional airport and a dearth of colleges, the residents feel construction of roads and improvement in sewerage and water supply have made a considerable difference.
