The awards will be presented by minister of state for power Jyotiraditya Scindia at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on February 4.

In 2010-11, the project had been awarded the gold shield by the union ministry of power. The Himachal Pradesh-based power station has been supplying power to the northern grid states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi, besides Chandigarh.

The ministry had instituted the Comprehensive Award Scheme in 2004-05 for recognising meritorious performance in the power sector.
