In a press note, Rupanjali Karthik, secretary, PPSC said certain objections were received from candidates about non-recognition of graduation degrees and colleges of few other short-listed candidates.
Accordingly, the PPSC sought clarification regarding the matter from the Veterinary Council of India and from 15 affected candidates.
The verification of certificates is not the primary domain of the PPSC. It is done by the appointing authority i.e the govt. (before issuing the appointment letters). But whenever any such complaint is received, the PPSC initiates action immediately.
Accordingly, the commission decided to postpone the interviews till further orders. The fresh dates shall be communicated to the candidates shortly, she added.
A competitive examination for the selection of veterinary officers was conducted on April 6. Thereafter, as per merit and rules, candidates were short-listed for the interviews which were scheduled to take place from June 2 to June 4.
