Punjab govt transfers 31 IAS, 19 PCS officers

The Punjab government on Friday transferred 31 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and 19 Punjab Civil Service (PCS) officers with immediate effect.
Himmat Singh has been given the additional charge of special chief secretary, food processing. DP Reddy has been given the additional charge of additional chief secretary (ACS), cooperation. G Vajralingam has been posted as ACS, technical education and industrial training, whereas SK Sandhu is now ACS, higher education and languages, according to orders issued late night.
Viswajeet Khanna has been posted as ACS, social security and development of women and children.
Roshan Sunkaria goes as principal secretary, science and technology and environment, whereas Kirpa Shankar Saroj has been posted as principal secretary, general administration and coordination.
Vijoy Kumar Singh has been given the additional charge of principal secretary, irrigation. Anurag Verma is now secretary, rural development and panchayats, whereas Rakesh Kumar Verma has been posted as secretary, industries and commerce.
JM Balamurugan has been posted as secretary, sports and youth services, with additional charge of secretary, personnel. Jaspreet Talwar is now secretary, water supply and sanitation. Krishan Kumar is the new secretary, school education, and in addition secretary, employment generation and training. Kahan Singh Pannu has been posted as secretary, revenue.
Rejig in police department
The government also transferred 62 superintendent of police (SP)-rank officers, including two belonging to the Indian Police Services (IPS).
The IPS officers who got new postings are Sukhminder Singh Maan and Iqbal Singh.
Mann has been posted as the assistant inspector general (AIG) of police, state special operation cell, Amritsar, with additional charge as AIG, crime investigation.
Iqbal Singh has been transferred as AIG, state crime records bureau and information technology and telecommunications wing with additional charge as AIG, special cell, Punjab, at Chandigarh.
SAS Nagar SP Parminder Singh Bhandal, Punjab Police Services (PPS) officer who recent hogged the limelight after sharing an objectionable video on a WhatsAap group in SAS Nagar, has been transferred to Phagwara.
