His sister Dalbir Kaur, wife Sukhpreet and daughters Swapandeep and Poonam crossed the international border gates at the Attari-Wagah border at 11.30 am.

The family had gone to Pakistan on Sunday to meet Sarabjit, who has been admitted to Lahore's Jinnah Hospital in a critical state after being assaulted by fellow prisoners last week in the city's Kot Lakhpat jail.

His sister Dalbir said the family will try to meet UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi soon.

Earlier on Tuesday, there were reports that doctors had declared Sarabjit Singh brain dead, however, it could not be confirmed.
