Dr RK Bansal, who conducted the surgery, talked to Dr Arun Bansal of the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, about the boy's treatment. However, the infant's parents refused to take him to the premier institute. Talking to HT, Dr RK Bansal said, "The child has two heads and two necks. The other organs, including the heart, are like normal children. We are giving treatment free of cost, but it would be a miracle if he survives."
