4 students killed, 1 injured as car overturns in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district

A police official said that all the students were reportedly going to visit Patratu Dam when the accident occurred around 10am on the Ramgarh-Ranchi.

Four school students died, while one suffered grievous injuries in an accident on the four-lane road near Bulkudra village in Patratu block of Ramgarh district under the Basal police station in Jharkhand.

“The deceased have been identified as Rahul Kumar, Harsh, Anil Kumar and Saloni Raj, while the injured Ganesh was referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). All were residents of Ghutuwa village in Barkakana,” said Basal police station-in-charge Sanjay Kumar.

Kumar said that the deceased and the injured are school students. “All of them are students of class 10 and class 12. They are in the age group of 14-18 years,” said the official.

A police official said that all the students were reportedly going to visit Patratu Dam when the accident occurred around 10am on the Ramgarh-Ranchi.

“Eyewitnesses told us that the white-coloured car rammed against the divider and overturned because of the impact. Autopsy was done in the afternoon. We are conducting further inquiries,” the official said.
