Suhasini Maniratnam took to Twitter to comment about the news of her political entry through her official Twitter handle.

Suhasini Maniratnam, a National Award-winning actor, was recently quoted by various media reports confirming that she is ready to enter politics too. This came as a shock to netizens who took to trolling the actor through memes.

Most of the memes were created based on her relationship with Kamal Haasan, who happens to be her uncle. The quote was published by a local media house in which Suhasini was quoted as saying, “We had been governed by a woman (J Jayalalitha) for so long. Why shouldn’t we enter politics? Why Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth be the only ones to enter politics? If people were to support us, we are ready to enter politics too,” she said.

She went on to add, “Just as people entrusted Jayalalitha with the responsibilities of running a government, they should trust Radhika, Revathy, Nadhiya or Suhasini. Everything depends on the people.”

It was following this that the actor was trolled. She took to Twitter to then clarify and wrote, “We use Twitter for social awareness friendship sharing knowledge inter acting with ppl far away or important info, Info about new projects Or get suggestions on which new book to read which films or tv shows to watch. When u can achieve so many constructive things why choose hatred ??? Really sad. I am very happy with what ever I’m doing where ever I am. So pls Don’t waste time on false news and assumptions.”

She has also stood up against trolling and wrote, “8 out of 10 ppl in india experience online harassment. I pledge to keep twitter out of this harassment . Who else ???”

The actor was last seen in the Hindi film, Waiting, alongside Naseeruddin Shah and Kalki Koechlin and will be seen in Dulquer Salmaan’s just released bilingual SOLO directed by Bejoy Nambiar.
