Well known director P Vasu became the latest victim of celebrity death hoax when the news spread that he was dead. Rumours flew thick and fast on the internet that he was dead. To dispel doubts, Vasu released a video.

Clarifying the situation, he said, “I got to know about this rumour, which came to me on WhatsApp. I laughed as I had just completed a 6-km walk in the gym and come home. I don’t know what to say; I can only laugh. But to know that so many people have love and affection for me makes me happy, and I thank them. I am fine and will be directing three movies this year.”

Vasu is a veteran filmmaker who has worked in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam film industries. He has made three films with superstar Rajinikanth including Mannan, Uzhaippali and the blockbuster Chandramukhi. What’s more he has also directed a Hindi film Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet (1999), says Indian Express.

In the recent past, he made Shivalinga in 2017 starring Raghava Lawrence and Ritika Singh, which is a remake of his own Kannada original by the same name. The Kannada film starred Shivarajkumar and Vedhika.

His son Shakthi Vasudevan is also an actor, who got his first major break when he participated in the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan last year.
