Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth wish Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja on being conferred with Padma Vibushan

Actors Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth and music composer AR Rahman wished Ilaiyaraaja on his Padma Vibushan.

Music composer Ilaiyaraaja was awarded the Padma Vibushan on Thursday and wishes poured in for the legendary composer from the industry. While everyone took to social media to congratulate him. Superstar Rajinikanth reportedly called Ilaiyaraaja to wish him for his achievement.

Kamal Haasan took to twitter to express his happiness and wrote, “My senior, my Ilaiyaraaja has been awarded. He was eligible for this award when he was much younger. The delayed award has been gracefully accepted by Raja and similarly his fans will accept the same. The award, the country and the state takes pride in his achievement.”

AR Rahman also took to Twitter and expressed, “My best wishes and respect to Ustad Gulam Mustafaji and Ilayaraja saab for being conferred the Padma Vibushan.”

Ilaiyaraaja’s son Yuvan Shankar Raja also wrote,”Extremely honored and happy... #padmavibushan Ilaiyaraaja.”

On Friday he also made an announcement and said, “On this honourable happy occasion we @YSRfilms are delighted to announce our next project with my father Ilayaraja,brother Karthikraja and myself scoring music together for the first time for my production venture #Maamanidhan staring @i_vijaysethu directed by @seenuramasamy.”

Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja has composed more than a thousand songs and Shamitabh was this 1000th album.
