Makers of Prabhas starrer Saaho to spend Rs 90 crore on Dubai schedule
The team of Prabhas starrer Saaho is in United Arab Emirates these days for shooting action sequences. It is currently based in Dubai, shooting an action sequence, under the supervision of international stunt choreographer Kenny Bates of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, The Fast and the Furious and Transformers: Dark of the Moon fame.
According to the makers, the Dubai schedule alone with cost them Rs 90 crore, making it the highest ever budget spent for a single schedule of an India film. The shoot has been on for the last couple of weeks and will continue in other parts of UAE including Abu Dhabi over the next 40 days.
Speaking on the shooting in Dubai and Abu Dhabi later, Prabhas said in a statement: “We are all excited to be shooting in Abu Dhabi - friends in the industry have told me that it’s an incredible filming destination boasting awe-inspiring landscapes, and it is certainly living up to that reputation. I’ve been impressed at the level of support we’ve received from twofour54, the local crews, the fans, and the government, who are all going out of their way to make things as smooth as possible.”
It may be recalled that twofour54 is Abu Dhabi’s media and entertainment hub, set up in 2008.
At more than 50 days, and with more than 250 crew members, Saaho will be the second longest Indian movie to be produced in Abu Dhabi after Tiger Zinda Hai last year. It will also be one of the most dynamic - the large-scale action scenes are expected to take about 20 days to shoot. It is the latest international film production to be shot in the Emirate. Among the major studios and production companies that have embraced Abu Dhabi as a location in recent years are Universal Pictures with Furious 7, Disney with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Yash Raj Films with Tiger Zinda Hai, and Paramount Pictures with Mission: Impossible - Fallout.
Being directed by Sujeeth, Saaho is being made on a budget of Rs 300 crore. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nithin Mukesh and Mandira Bedi in crucial roles.
