Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer of the Suriya starrer Thaana Serndha Kootam.

Today is Anirudh Ravichander’s birthday, Kollywood’s favourite music composer. On the occasion, the makers of Suriya starrer Thaana Serndha Kootam released a song teaser of a song from the film called Sodakku (finger snap).

The one-minute sequence shows the song being filmed. It starts with a dozen people snapping fingers, as the song begins. Many faces flash across the screen and one of them is Sheril, the Jimikki Kammal girl -- a student at Indian School of Commerce who hit the limelight after a dance video starring other students and her, went viral. They danced to a popular number from Mohanlal’s recently released Velipadinte Pusthakam and it was liked by American chat show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Coming back to Sodakku -- the one-minute video with foot-tapping beats -- the song teaser shows Suriya being choreographed by a dance instructor. There are other group dancers as well in the scene. Overall, it is a feel-good and street-dance-based number. And while the entire song is still to come, the teaser certainly gives a feel of it. In any case, Anirudh is known for his folk style Kothu songs like the Maari Thara Local starring Dhanush. This one too promises to be fast paced, beat-intensive with rhythmic lyrics to go with it.

Directed by Vignesh Shivan, Thaana Serndha Kootam stars Suriya and Keerthy Suresh. The film is expected the hit the screens around Pongal in January 2018.
