The pre-release event of Allu Arjun’s forthcoming release Naa Peru Surya was organised in a big way in Hyderabad on April 29. Basking in the success of Rangasthalam, actor Ram Charan presided over as the event’s chief guest. Thanking Ram Charan for graciously accepting their invitation, Arjun heaped praise on the actor for scoring his career’s biggest hit with Rangasthalam. He said the film’s success ended the industry’s dry spell.
“Ram Charan, thank you for being that special decoration in our event. You made us all proud. Rangasthalam success brought the industry out of slump. It brought a positive mood in the buyers. This success was followed by Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu. I hope my film completes the hat-trick of hits for this summer.”
Talking about the film, in which Arjun plays a military officer with anger issues, he said he’s proud to have done this project. Heaping praise on director Vakkantham Vamsi, he said: “If this film succeeds tomorrow, I can say proudly say all the credit should go to Vamsi. Producer Sridhar said I’m the leader of this project, but I’d like to clarify it is Vamsi. I don’t want to brag too much about the film, but I think I will be proud of it.”
Naa Peru Surya is gearing up for release worldwide on May 4. It also stars Anu Emmanuel, Sarath Kumar, Arjun, Nadhiya and Thakur Anoop Singh among others. At the event, the film’s trailer was released, and it was extremely well received.
Talking about the film, Vamsi said many hands joined together to make his directorial dream come true. “It’s been a long-time dream to become a director. On this occasion, I’d like to thank my guru, Shri Dasari Narayana Rao, who is unfortunately not among us today. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or it was meant to happen that way, but my film is releasing on his birthday which is May 4.”
He also thanked Allu Arjun for believing in him. “It’s a big deal for a star actor to believe in a first-time director. He placed his faith in me and I hope I didn’t disappoint him. It’s an angry young man’s journey to serve for his country.”
