Saaho: Not Anushka Shetty, Shraddha Kapoor will romance Baahubali’s Prabhas?
The issue of who will play the female lead in Prabhas-starrer Saaho continues. The latest rumour is that Shraddha Kapoor may star in the film.Updated: Aug 02, 2017 16:26 IST
Looks like Prabhas’ post Baahubali film, Saaho, is having problems in getting a heroine. While the news that Prabhas as hero and Neil Nitin Mukesh as the film’s villain has long been confirmed, the question of who will play the female lead continues.
Rumours are that Haseena Parkar actor Shraddha Kapoor might be seen as the film’s leading lady. According to a report in IB Times, while a number of names were being considered, Shraddha’s name too came up. The makers approached her for the film, but apparently Shraddha asked for a hefty fee. The makers backed off. Now, it seems, she has slashed her fee to star opposite the Baahubali sensation.
For a long time, it had been speculated that Baahubali actor Anushka Shetty, who has worked on many occasions with Prabhas in the past, would play his love interest in Saaho too. However, it was later confirmed that Anushka has opted out of the film as her dates were clashing with her upcoming Tamil project. She has reportedly signed a big Tamil film even before she accepted Saaho, and she was obliged to complete the former at any cost.
It is also rumoured that DJ actor Pooja Hegde has been signed as her replacement and was expected to join the sets soon. Prabhas, on the other hand, has begun shooting for the film, suggest reports.
Neil Nitin Mukesh, who plays the main antagonist in the film, said in an interview that Saaho will be biggest action film of 2018.
“This is a larger-than-life film and, post Baahubali, the entire nation is rooting for Prabhas. And where there is a mega hero, there will always be a mega villain too. My character has many shades like every other character in the film. It’s quite an exciting project, Sujeeth has a great vision. Saaho will be the biggest action film of 2018.”
