The much awaited NGK has many things going for it. The film stars Suriya in the lead and also heralds the return of Selvaraghavan to direction. The maker of films such as Kadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony and more has been away from the limelight for some time now. NGK was expected to release on Diwali when it would have clashed with Vijay’s Sarkar. However, it now appears that Suriya’s film will be delayed.

Film’s producers, Dream Warrior Pictures, are expected to push the release of the film either to December this year or to Pongal next year. Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai tweeted, “#NGK @Suriya_offl’s @selvaraghavan directed political thriller release likely to be pushed from Deepavali to Christmas. Official confirmation awaited from @DreamWarriorpic.”

In the meanwhile, the shooting of NGK has been stalled as director Selvaraghavan had to go through a surgery. The director tweeted, “Hi friends. It was a simple medical procedure. I’m perfectly fine and have resumed work. Shooting for #NGK will start in next couple of days. Once again thank you all for your love and concern.”

NGK also stars Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet in lead roles and will see Suriya play the role of Nanda Gopalan Kumaran.
