MUMBAI: Ruthless-Tigers FC snatched a 2-1 win over Challengers FC in a keenly contested and absorbing final of the Borivali Sports Foundation’s inaugural Borivali Premier Football League at the St Francis D’Assisi ground.

Consistent scorer Agnelo Picardo, who bagged the ‘Golden Boot’ award with 15 goals in nine matches, impressed in the final too with the opening goal for Tigers before Ritesh Perambra added the second to secure the win. Bernard Lobo got the lone goal for Challengers.

The ‘Player of the Tournament’ award was won by Umesh Perambra also of Ruthless Tigers FC, while the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ award went to Rakesh Poojary of Challengers FC.

D’ASSISI DOWN DON BOSCO

Jhonson Mathews and Harsh Dhekale struck a goal each to facilitate St Francis D’Assisi ‘A’, Borivali log full points off their 2-1 win over Don Bosco, Borivali in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association’s boys under-16 First Division league on Tuesday. The losers struck one back through Sahil Sawant.
