A Chinese gymnastics official has been found guilty of fraud, after he falsified a score to help a Chinese athlete win gold at the 2010 Asian Games.

A Chinese gymnastics official has been found guilty of fraud, after he falsified a score to help a Chinese athlete win gold at the 2010 Asian Games.
The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) says it downgraded Shao Bin's status as a judge and ordered him to pay 7,200 Swiss francs in legal costs. He can appeal the sanction by September 9.
Shao worked on a panel evaluating the difficulty of routines in the men's floor exercise final at Guangzhou, China, last November.
FIG says Shao "altered an execution score prior to posting" without telling event officials.
The altered mark moved Chinese gymnast Zhang Chenglong from second into a tie for first place with Kim Soo-Myun of South Korea.
