I-League champions Dempo rounded off a creditable show in trying conditions to head into the semi-finals of the Federation Cup after drubbing Mumbai FC 4-0 and finishing top of Group A with seven points here on Sunday.

Overnight showers threatened another day of struggle in slush but the turf at the Keenan stadium here held firm, allowing Dempo to seal the deal quickly and be the first team to book a semi-final berth.

Pailan Arrows ended the tournament on a high after defeating Shillong Lajong 2-1 at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Having held Dempo and Mumbai FC, the win was a much-needed boost to the AIFF’s development team’s morale after fighting a number of injuries.
