Real Madrid fans confident about winning Spanish football league

The supporters of Spanish giants Real Madrid are very confident about the chances of their team winning a third straight Liga title.

The supporters of Spanish giants Real Madrid are very confident about the chances of their team winning a third straight Liga title.

This is the conclusion to be drawn from online opinion polls taken on Monday by Madrid sports dailies Marca and AS.

Of the Marca readers, 57 per cent believe that Real will win the league, with 43 per cent voting for Barcelona, whilst no less than 70 per cent of AS readers have opted for Real.

Three weeks ago Barca had a 12 point lead over Real, but the whites have managed to whittle this down to just four points by winning 10 straight games, whilst Barca have picked up just one point in their last three matches.

Interestingly, there are no such online polls on Monday in Catalan dailies Sport and Mundo Deportivo, just laments and complaints about a Barca defence that has leaked eight goals in three games.
