Australian Open champion Serena Williams stayed on top in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings published on Monday.

Williams tops the list with 9,195 points ahead of Russian Dinara Safina (6,480) and US Open finalist Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark who improves a place to third (5,995).
