I'm not dating John: Asin

Asin insists her Housefull 2 co-star and she are cordial, says he never had a show of Force for her in London

Some weeks ago, a tabloid had stated that South import, Asin Thottumkal, who debuted in Bollywood with Ghajini, opposite Aamir Khan, is the new love interest in John Abraham’s life.

The actor has recently split with his girlfriend-of-a-decade, actor Bipasha Basu.

Speculations were rife that John and Asin, who were filming Housefull 2 in a monthlong schedule in London, are an ‘item’.

“Rubbish!” fumes Asin, who has been shuttling between a family function at Ernakkulam in Kerala and ad film shoots in Mumbai.

“It’s ridiculous to put two and two together and assume that if two people are single and cordial at work, they are having a ‘scene’. John is one of my many co-actors on Sajid’s (director Sajid Khan) Housefull sequel. We’re a bunch of girls with loads of male co-actors. That’s no reason to say that I’m having an affair with one of them.”

It was also said that Asin was the cause of the John-Bipasha split-up.

Rumour mills were buzzing that she grown close to the Dhoom star. Asin has acted in the South movie that has inspired John’s forthcoming release, the action-packed Force.

She had played the role that Genelia D’Souza plays in the Hindi remake.

It’s said that John had organised a special screening of his movie for Asin.

“How is that possible?” retorts the actor, who was last seen with Salman Khan in Ready. “I don’t even know what is the update on Force. John was in London when his team sent him a promo of the film. We were shooting a song that day. He showed it to Farah (choreographer Farah Khan), me, in fact, the entire crew for our feedback. Back then, the film wasn’t even ready. How could he have had a special screening for me?”

Asin insists that John and she are just co-workers: “I’m friendly with all the stars on the sets. He’s not treated any differently. In fact, I’ve spent more time with Akshay (Kumar), Riteish (Deshmukh) and the Kapoor brothers (Rishi and Randhir).”
