To verify this we sent a press enquiry to Twitter. Following the press request from Hindustan Times, it responded with an automatic poop response.

Elon Musk also tweeted on Sunday, "press@twitter.com now auto responds with poop emoji."

Twitter boss has on several occasions made clear that he does not appreciate journalism. “The holier-than-thou hypocrisy of big media companies who lay claim to the truth, but publish only enough to sugarcoat the lie, is why the public no longer respects them,” he remarked.

Prior to purchasing Twitter, Musk also announced that he planned to create a website that would allow users to grade the fundamental veracity of any article and track the credibility score over time of each journalist, editor, and magazine.

Recently, Twitter accounts of prominent journalists from from CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post were suspended as Musk accused them of endangering his family. The move even faced criticism from United Nations and European Union. "News about arbitrary suspension of journalists on Twitter is worrying. Elon Musk should be aware of that. There are red lines. And sanctions, soon," EU commissioner Vera Jourova posted on Twitter.

In other news, Musk has said that Twitter will open source all code used to recommend tweets. (ALSO READ: Elon Musk announces a set of latest updates for Twitter)

“Our “algorithm” is overly complex & not fully understood internally. People will discover many silly things , but we’ll patch issues as soon as they’re found! We’re developing a simplified approach to serve more compelling tweets, but it’s still a work in progress. That’ll also be open source,” he tweeted.
