World number nine and former Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych admitted Wednesday that the Zika virus could force him to skip the Rio Olympics in August.
On the day that superstar golfer Rory McIlroy said he would not go to the Games because of health fears, Czech Republic player Berdych said he may follow suit.
“The Olympics are still on my schedule and in my plans,” said the 30-year-old who made the Wimbledon final in 2010.

“Zika is definitely something that is in my mind. I have to really look at it and think about it.
“I just need to see how all the things are going and then make the best decision for myself (nearer the time).”
The Olympics tennis tournament has already suffered a number of withdrawals with John Isner of the United States, Austria’s Dominic Thiem, Australian duo Bernard Tomic and Nick Kyrgios as well as Spanish veteran Feliciano Lopez all opting not to take part.
