3rd cheetah dies in Kuno Park

The two-year-old cheetah, Daksha, was found severely injured in her enclosure around 10.45am on Tuesday, and a team of veterinarians were treating her, a statement from the forest department said.

An autopsy of the female cheetah is being conducted by the veterinary team, the statement said. (HT)

Massive fire engulfs paint godown in Wadgaonsheri

A fire broke out at a paint godown in Pune, damaging Deccan Paints's godown. Fire brigade department dispatched vehicles and took one hour to control the blaze. No casualties reported. Investigations underway.

Fire breaks out at commercial complex in Thane

The blaze that broke out in the business park at around 8.30 pm later spread to a mall next to it. The thick smoke billowing out of the site of the mishap also affected vehicular traffic movement. Majiwada flyover was also jammed as the business park is located at the flyover end

24,000 evacuated, two dead in Indonesian floods

"We experience flooding at least five to eight times a year -- but (this) is one of the most severe," said a resident of Pirak Timur. 

The number of people evacuated to government shelters stood at around 13,000 on Tuesday, with the states of Johor, Malacca and Sabah the worst affected.
