Mangrove park, eco-tourism centre to come up in Dahisar

The mangrove park in Gorai, Mumbai is nearing completion, and a tender worth ₹45.78 crore has been issued to set up a similar park in Dahisar. The Dahisar park will include a mangrove museum, a suspended glass bridge, a boardwalk, and a nature interpretation centre. The park will be located amid 200 acres of mangroves and is expected to be completed in two years. The project is part of the efforts to protect and conserve the remaining mangroves in the area.

BMC plans three-star hotel, convention center, transportation hub at defunct octroi nakas

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) plans to set up two interstate bus terminals at Dahisar and Mankhurd octroi nakas in order to decongest city roads. The BMC is also considering a convention center and hotel in Mankhurd and a transportation and commercial hub in Dahisar. The consultant's report suggests various facilities such as exhibition centers, restaurants, and parking lots, as well as transportation-related activities like CNG stations and charging stations for electric vehicles. The BMC aims to make the project financially self-sustainable and generate revenue through lease/rent.

A sprawling nature park planned in Mumbai's Dahisar area, featuring a 'mangrove museum' and a suspended glass bridge, is one step closer to completion. The park is being built amid 200 acres of mangroves and is expected to be awarded construction bids by June-end. Once completed, the park will house a 5,100 square metre nature interpretation centre nestled on the banks of the Gorai Creek and accessible via Link Road or by boat from the Gorai Jetty. The project's success depends heavily on Mumbai's Dahisar River Rejuvenation Project.

Seven staff, three customers arrested after viral fight outside Dahisar bar

The video of the fight had been uploaded on social media Saturday evening after which the police reached the spot and intervened. The footage showed individuals slapping and punching each other, and a man can be seen wielding a chair to hit another person.

Sumit Thakur, chief PRO, WR, said, “The mobile application comes with a plethora of features to help commuters plan their journey at their fingertips. We have installed GPS tracking devices in all the local trains which will enable the app to provide its real-time location”.

“The commuters will not only be able to get the train’s live location on the map but also see it moving in action. In just three simple steps, commuters can view the live location,” said a WR official. “All that commuters need to do is find the nearest station on the map, type the source station and track the local train of their choice, so they can gauge how close or far they are from the train to plan their journey. Mumbai woman kills husband with lover's help, buries body at home

The deceased used to work as a salesman in a clothing store, and on May 25, the victim's neighbour registered a missing person's complaint after he had not seen him for over a week.

The incident took place in Rawal Pada locality of Dahisar (east) 12 days ago, when the accused allegedly slit the victim Raees Sheikh's throat with a sharp weapon in front of his minor daughter, an official said.
