Covid -19 probe: ED arrests Shiv Sena (UBT) functionary Suraj Chavan
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Suraj Chavan, a Shiv Sena party functionary, for his alleged involvement in a money-laundering case related to irregularities in the distribution of khichdi to migrant workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Chavan is believed to be close to Aaditya Thackeray. The ED's investigation is part of a probe into the BMC's expenditure on Covid-19 contracts. The agency suspects that contractors supplied khichdi to the BMC at inflated rates with the help of certain civic officials. This is the first arrest made by the ED in the case.

Former sarpanch arrested in Raigad land forgery case
Former sarpanch of Korlai village, Prashant Misal, has been arrested on charges of cheating and forging land records of a nine-acre plot allegedly owned by the Uddhav Thackeray family. Misal had been on the run since the FIR was registered against him on February 23. The other accused got anticipatory bail, while Misal did not. The case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

BMC began demolishing five illegal film studios in Mumbai's Madh-Marve area. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya called it the demolition of the "memorial of Thackeray government's corruption".
