Digambar Kamat removed as permanent invitee to Congress Working Committee

Recently, the Congress filed disqualification petitions against Kamat and former leader of the opposition Michael Lobo after MLAs led by Kamat allegedly failed to garner the support of the stipulated two-thirds of the party’s legislative strength needed to join the BJP.

Michael Lobo was removed as the leader of Opposition in Goa Assembly on Sunday for conspiring to weaken the Congress party with the ruling BJP’s help. Lobo said “somebody wants to become the leader of Opposition” for which such a step was taken by the Congress.

Goa minister promises to waive tax on ore transport barges

The barge owners have been campaigning for a tax waiver with their demands only increasing since the hopes of a revival of Goa’s once thriving mining industry are growing dimmer by the day.

Lok Sabha elections 2019: With 2 am entry of two MGP lawmakers, BJP now has 14 MLAs in Goa

Manohar Ajgaonkar and Deepak Prabhu Pauskar submitted the letter to Speaker Michael Lobo along with chief minister Pramod Sawant and state party president Vinay Tendulkar.

The move will also bring the BJP’s numbers in the Goa Assembly to 14, the same as that of the Congress.
