NASA's ‘mind-blowing’ Mars discovery: ‘Like finding an oasis in the desert’

NASA's Curiosity rover accidentally and unexpectedly discovered pure sulfur hiding in plain sight, blending in with the Red Planet's surface.

NASA's Curiosity rover found these yellow crystals after driving over rocks. When cracked open, they revealed a surprise inside. Further analysis confirmed that the crystals are elemental sulfur, making it the first time this kind of sulfur has been found on Mars. (X / @MarsCuriosity)

NASA's Artemis 1 moon mission rocket hit by fuel leak before 2nd launch attempt

NASA wants to send the crew capsule atop the rocket around the moon, pushing it to the limit before astronauts get on the next flight. If the five-week demo with test dummies succeeds, astronauts could fly around the moon in 2024 and land on it in 2025. People last walked on the moon 50 years ago.

Signs of life on Mars? Nasa rover gets images of ancient river delta

Nasa astrobiologist Amy Williams and her team in Florida found similarities between features of the cliffs seen from the crater floor and patterns in Earth's river deltas.

The images from Mars reveal how water helped shape the Red Planet's landscape billions of years ago, providing clues that will guide the search for evidence of ancient life, a study said. (Photo via Nasa)
