Special team begins probe into lapses in Pehlu lynching probe

DIG Nitin Deep Blaggan, head of the SIT, visited Behror on Wednesday and spent close to five hours in the police station, collecting records related to the case against nine people, including three minors, on charges of killing Pehlu Khan.

Forensics cleared Pehlu clips, police versions raised doubts

On April 1, 2017, Khan was attacked by a mob on the Delhi-Jaipur highway near Behror in Rajasthan’s Alwar district while he was transporting cattle from a market in Jaipur to his home in Nuh, Haryana. He named six people as his attackers in his dying declaration but all of them were acquitted on August 14.

Withdraw charge sheet, quash FIRs against Pehlu Khan: PUCL

Gehlot govt charges Pehlu Khan, killed by mob in 2017, for smuggling cattle, BJP says vindicated

While the police chargesheeted Khan’s sons Irsad (25) and Arif (22) under sections 5, 8 and 9, charges have been framed against the deceased under section 6 of the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act, 1995.

Pehlu Khan lynching: Witnesses, sons ‘shot at’ on way to court in Alwar

The witnesses’ lawyer Asad Hayat said that men in a black Scorpio shot at them near Behror town where they were to depose in a local court. Police are however verifying their claim.
