Five inmates killed jawan to escape observation home
The juvenile inmates planned to flee the observation home after attacking the guard, police said. The incident took place when Singh was patrolling the remand centre at around 6.45 am.

Bihar hooch tragedy toll at 70, authorities say tally could rise
The deaths of 70 people in Mashrakh, Marhaura, Ishuapur, Amnaur, Tariyya, Baniyapur and Parsa blocks of Saran district allegedly due to consumption of spurious liquor were the highest in such an incident since prohibition was brought into effect in Bihar in 2016.

Saran hooch tragedy death toll mounts to 52; villagers stage protest
Out of the 52, the administration has taken possession of 34 bodies from their relatives for postmortem, while the remaining bodies were understood to have been hastily cremated.
