Dubai crown prince welcomes fourth child, names her Hind

Sheikh Hamdan, the crown prince of Dubai, has welcomed his fourth child - a baby girl named Hind.

Sheikh Hamdan, the crown prince of Dubai, welcomed his fourth child on Saturday. The baby girl has been named Hind, in honour of the crown prince’s mother, Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.

According to Gulf News, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum confirmed the news in an Instagram post. The brief post announced the baby’s birth and her name, besides offering a prayer for her.

“O Allah, grant her a heart filled with your love, make her a source of light and guidance, and clothe her in the garments of health and well-being,” the Emirati leader wrote.

Sheikh Hamdan has been the crown prince of Dubai since 2008. He also serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE.

He is the second son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum. He is popularly known as “Fazza.”

Sheikh Hamdan married his cousin, Sheikha Sheikha bint Saeed bin Thani Al Maktoum, in 2019. Their union was part of a joint ceremony that also included the weddings of his brothers, Sheikh Maktoum and Sheikh Ahmad. Sheikha Sheikha is a member of Dubai's ruling Al Maktoum family. Despite her royal status, she maintains a private life, with limited public information available.

Besides their newborn Hind, the couple already has two sons and a daughter. Their twins, Sheikha and Rashid, were born in May 2021. In February 2023, they also welcomed a son, named Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Hamdan maintains a strong presence on social media, particularly on Instagram under the handle @faz3, where he shares insights into his life, interests, and initiatives.​ He has nearly 17 million followers on Instagram.
